The woman is an extraordinary human being,
a lot of people say the woman is a fragile gender, but in fact is stronger than
a man in many situations. Every day,
almost every woman has to fight for a space, dignity, respect and equal
opportunity, even in societies, where have equality law.
In the present time, a lot of societies
have their women as a reproduction machine, slaves and sexual object. In development societies, the women are
empowered, have a power of decisions in their own life, but every successful
had being a continued fight. In order to
recognized their efforts since the beginning of past century there is a Woman’s
Day.
During of Woman’s Day, women and men send
congratulations to other, as is usually in the Mother’s Day, or San Valentine’s
Day, but de principal objective is make conscience about the women freedom’s
importance.
In The Rhode Island State at The United
Estate, to 2000 there not were any important events to promote or celebrate
that occasion, according the president of The Woman Development Institute,
Sandra Lake. So, She decided to create
an event in order to recognized extraordinary women, whom work hard every
single day.
The past March 8, She and a collaborating
group celebrated the 14th celebration at Marriot Hotel of Extraordinary Woman
Award, where eleven extraordinary women were recognized. With this award the Woman Development Institute
pretend cheer up to keep them making their extraordinary work in support of the
community and to cheer up to other to fallowed their examples.
Sandra Lake said: God gave me the idea to
organize an event that honors women’s sacrifice for justice and equality, while
highlighting Rhode Island women’s work and successes. My inspiration came from observing how
women’s societal role has evolved and advanced through the years by
demonstrating their intelligence, strength and ability to contribute to the
development of our communities.
The women are from different social groups,
educational levels and nationalities have been selected and recognized, many of
them anonymously and representing thousand of women who fight each day and five
the best of them to make our world a better place, said Sandra Lake
